Bio: Sleep Study is Joseph Downing (bass/vocals), Cory Eischen (keys/vocals), Ryan Paul Plewacki (vocals/guitar), and Alexander Young (drums).
In 2008, Ryan Paul Plewacki formed, Minneapolis band, Ryan Paul & THE ARDENT. The band was received well by local, national, and international press. In 2010, Plewacki enlisted Cory Eischen to join the ensemble on keys. The two collaborated for nights on end in Eischen’s basement studio. The blending of their unique styles quickly departed from the ARDENT repertoire and Sleep Study was conceived.
In the same time period, Plewacki began working with the acclaimed minimalist band, Minor Kingdom and met bassist Joseph Downing. Their chemistry, both on and off stage, was noted. Shortly after the departure of Minor Kindom’s band leader, Kristian Melom, Downing and Plewacki insisted on continuing to work together.
Alexander Young is a personal friend of all members and was the go-to sub drummer in RPTA. He is highly regarded in the Minneapolis music scene. Young’s name was the first on everyone’s list when the project started to come into fruition.
The band is currently working on their first studio record with Minneapolis music mastermind, Adam Levy.
